LifestyleGearing Up for the Great Outdoors: Rough Country’s Showcase at MOORE and Powersports Expo

This is the fifth year of the Midwest Overlanding & Off-Road Expo (MOORE) and the kick-off year for their Powersports expansion, PSE. Located in Springfield, Missouri, at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, this event was created by passionate overlanders & off-roaders to foster connection within the community while providing education, entertainment, and exposure. Attendees could camp on the event grounds with their rigs, and many chose to sleep in rooftop tents, vans, or teardrop trailers. Additionally, the expo features the SMORR 2 MOORE Overland Rally, a driving competition where participants follow a printed list of route instructions to stay on course along some of the most breathtaking roads in the Midwest.

In addition to the continued growth of the MOORE Expo, this was the first year for the Powersports Expo expansion. Even though overlanding transcends multiple vehicle categories, from automotive to powersports, this expansion puts focus on the overall category of UTVs and ATVs. In collaboration with I-69 Motorsports in Union City, TN, we showcased a Polaris Xpedition ADV 5 Rough Country build, which showcases many of the products we have coming down the pipeline for the Xpedition platform.

The builds we showcased at MOORE Expo were our 2024 Toyota Tacoma, 2022 Toyota Tundra, and our overland trailer in collaboration with Rustic Mountain Overland. All rigs were decked out with Rough Country products, perfect for outdoor & off-road adventures. With the vehicles we build and the products we manufacture, our goal is to provide high-quality, cost-effective products so you can build with performance and personalization.

All eyes were on our 2024 Toyota Tacoma. It’s debatable, but we feel pretty confident in saying it was one of the most looked at and photographed vehicles at the expo. Our teams at RC HQ have been hard at work developing and bringing to market products like suspension, bumpers, racks, flares, running boards, etc.

The 2022 Tundra continues to grow its influence within the overlanding community. For a full-size vehicle, this is one of the top platforms consumers are choosing, and we have a wide variety of products available for this generation of Tundra.

The teardrop trailer is becoming a more desirable concept for overlanders and off-roaders. We partnered with Rustic Mountain Overland, a trailer manufacturer in Alabama, to build our own overland trailer with Rough Country products. It has attracted a lot of attention and questions from attendees at every event we have taken it to. 

Overall, the MOORE & PSE Expo was a mission accomplished for Rough Country. We achieved our objective to strengthen connections within the community. We highly recommend adding this event to your calendar for next year, as it’s an excellent opportunity to see the latest and greatest gear and connect with other outdoor enthusiasts.
